Thanks to multi-talented chef Doy Sakdiponephong The Cafe is two restaurants in one. Sakdiponephong who has operated one of Bethlehem’s finest dining spots with his wife Patti since 1982 uses his Thai heritage and self-taught French cooking (he started out in 1977 as a pastry chef) to create The Cafe’s noteworthy cuisine. For example the rack of lamb a favorite of Cafe patrons can be prepared Thai style with curry sauce or continental style with mustard sauce. Trout stuffed with artichoke hearts Swiss cheese and a hollandaise sauce is another Cafe signature dish. Toy’s mother Arporn Sakdiponephong makes the curry dipping sauces and soups from her own recipes and the spring rolls and won tons by hand. Strawberry cream cheese tart sacher torte and coconut butter creme are the most popular of The Cafe’s many renowned desserts. Front porch dining is available from April to October complementing the seven intimate dining rooms on two floors inside.
